Patented physical-layer waveform

The waveform
after OFDM.

MTF is a patented physical layer from the co-inventor of wideband OFDM. It drops into the radio you already build: your coding, framing and MAC stay, and only the physical layer changes. Then you choose what to win: range on less power, more bits per hertz, or raw throughput.

The trade-off

Every radio is a compromise between power, spectrum and speed.

OFDM, the waveform under Wi-Fi, 4G and 5G, peaks far above its average power, so amplifiers are backed off to a fraction of their rating. Spectrum is licensed by the megahertz. Every extra bit per second costs signal-to-noise. MTF moves that frontier and lets you choose the corner you need to win.

01

Power. Constant-envelope configurations run the amplifier fully saturated, with no back-off.

02

Spectrum. Mask-matched spreading fits the regulator's mask, validated to −70 dBr out of band.

03

Throughput. The same core, run linear, carries higher-order modulation for the most bits per channel.

Drop-in by design

Only the physical layer changes.

MTF keeps a conventional signal at its core and inserts its processing between your channel coding and your power amplifier. On receive, an iterative interference-cancelling detector reverses it.

Lineage

From the co-inventor of W-OFDM.

Dr. Michel Fattouche co-founded Wi-LAN around wideband OFDM, which was adopted in IEEE 802.16a and licensed by more than 200 companies. MTF is his next waveform.

How we work

We license. You build. We never compete.

MTFComm licenses its physical layer to the companies that build radios, chips, satellites and networks. FPGA images for Reach and Velocity are available to qualified partners for evaluation.
