Gigabit Wi-Fi and cellular links through indoor echoes

Wi-Fi and cellular capacity is limited by spectrum and by fading: indoors, a narrow channel sits in fades and needs a large margin for reliable delivery. In a simulated 5.7 GHz office with real echoes, Spectra delivers 1.72 Gbps with no fading floor, and its constant envelope lets the amplifier run saturated.

Key results

  • 1.72 Gbps at 11–12 dB received Eb/N0 in a simulated office with echoes, 5.7 GHz
  • >16 dB needed by Wi-Fi 6's most robust 20 MHz mode in the same office, for 7.3 Mbps
  • 0 dB PAPR, so the amplifier runs saturated
  • 4 of 4 indoor and outdoor channel models closed with no fading floor

Simulation with IEEE 802.15.4a channel models; the receiver estimates the channel from each packet. An indoor link study, not a cellular-network study.
