More capacity for LEO satellites and small terminals

Low-orbit satellites are short of power, and today's signals hold their amplifiers to under a quarter of their rating. Reach's constant envelope runs the same amplifier at about two-thirds. The smallest terminals gain the most: drones, vehicles, small boats and trackers.

Key results

  • ~3× the power from the same on-board amplifier
  • 2.25× the data down to terminals of 20 cm or less, same power and spectrum
  • 2.2× the data up from the smallest terminals, under 10 cm
  • 15 Mbps up per channel from larger terminals, with an amplifier less than half the size
