Roadmap

  • 1991–1993: Dr. Michel Fattouche co-invents wideband OFDM and co-founds Wi-LAN; W-OFDM is adopted in IEEE 802.16a.
  • Dec 2013: first MTF simulations.
  • Jun 7, 2019: first patent filing (US provisional, priority date).
  • Jun 3, 2020: PCT international filing.
  • Sep 2020: paper published in IEEE Systems Journal, vol. 14, no. 3.
  • Dec 30, 2020: MTFComm Inc. incorporated in Alberta, Canada.
  • Sep 20, 2022: US 11,451,418 B2 granted; then Taiwan (2023), China (2024), Japan, Korea, Australia and Europe (2025).
  • Feb 2025: hardware program begins on AMD Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC.
  • Dec 2025: first public hardware demonstration.
  • Aug 2026: technology formalised as MTF Reach, Spectra and Velocity; Velocity transmitter running in FPGA.
  • Oct 2026: Velocity decodes 16- and 64-QAM in FPGA; Reach's full receiver runs in FPGA. Reach and Velocity FPGA images available to partners.
  • Q4 2026 – Q1 2027 (target): Reach on a low-cost DSP with a sub-GHz radio.
  • Next (targets): measured Reach sensitivity, continuous Velocity transceiver, Spectra on AMD Versal RF, partner field trials, a single ASIC for all three configurations.
